Arthur Bishop

Vice President of Transmission
and Distribution Technology Support

As Energy Southeast’s Vice President of Transmission and Distribution Technology Support, Arthur Bishop is responsible for Energy Southeast’s transmission needs for Member delivery points, Energy Southeast-owned generation, and contract generation; transmission billing checkout; Energy Southeast’s SCADA system; Member delivery point metering; implementing Energy Southeast’s Resource Management Plan; Energy Southeast’s Renewable Behind- the-Meter Generation (RBtMG) program; developing and maintaining Energy Southeast’s Solar Research Parks; analyzing and supplying data in coordination with Members and other Energy Southeast departments; and facilitating Energy Southeast’s EV Working Group.

Mr. Bishop also assists with technical and cyber security support in regulatory compliance activities for Energy Southeast and regulatory compliance support for Energy Southeast’s Members. In addition, Mr. Bishop supports and assists Energy Southeast’s Members in the operation of their electrical distribution systems to help strengthen and improve the efficiency of their systems.

Mr. Bishop has over 20 years of experience in the municipal electric utility industry. Mr. Bishop joined Energy Southeast in 2000 as Engineer I. He has worked in Energy Southeast Operations as Senior Operations Engineer, and in Energy Southeast Power Supply and Planning as Senior Operating Engineer.

Mr. Bishop is a member of the American Public Power Association’s (APPA) Electric Vehicle Interest Group, the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) ZEVSE Advisory Group, the Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA) Community Solar Interest Group, and he participates in the Transmission Access Policy Study (TAPS) Group.

He holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems from Mississippi State University.

He and his wife, D’Leigh, reside in Verbena with their four children. They are members of First Assembly of God in Clanton.
